What is cricket run rate?
Current run rate is total runs scored divided by overs actually faced. Cricket uses six legal deliveries per over: 17.3 means 17 overs and three balls, not 17.3 decimal overs.
Worked example
If a team scores 120 runs in 15 overs, its current run rate is 120 ÷ 15 = 8.00 runs per over.
